University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business is the 11th ranked undergraduate business program in the nation according to US News and World Report, while Businessweek ranks it as the #1 program in the nation. As a Catholic university, one of its distinctive goals is to provide a forum where, through free inquiry and open discussion, the various lines of Catholic thought may intersect with all the forms of knowledge found in the arts, sciences, professions, and every other area of human scholarship and creativity. Nearly 11,733 students call Notre Dame home, and of those 8,371 are pursuing undergraduate degrees with more than 93 percent of students identify as Christian, with over 80 percent of the total being Catholic. The school offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees and very low 10:1 student/faculty ratio. While only 22.3 percent of applicants are accepted to Notre Dame each year, 90 percent of them choose to return after their freshman year.
