Connecticut is the southernmost state in the New England region of the U.S. It was the fifth state to become ratified on January 9, 1788, with the city of Hartford officially becoming the only capital after the year of 1875. University of Connecticut

Founded in 1881, the University of Connecticut is one of the top public research universities in the nation. Taught by the same faculty that teach traditional face-to-face courses, UConn’s extensive online program gives students the opportunity to still be integrated on campus while learning from the comfort of their own home. All classes are offered under the university’s eCampus portal, with access to various services such as the UConn Library System and Google Apps. Since 2001, Quinnipiac has offered online programs that allows students the flexibility to finish their degree while still maintaining a strong sense of community. The university never outsources their staff, therefore students will always receive the same quality of education as a traditional on-campus student. Sacred Heart University

University of Bridgeport

The University of Bridgeport was founded in 1927 during the time when the city of Bridgeport was one of only six U.S. cities of over 100,000 people with no institution of higher education. It is a private, four-year university located an hour from New York and two hours from Boston. Today its undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees are offered through thirteen schools, colleges, and institutes. UB’s programs are centered around the goal of students seeking professional growth and therefore curricula are developed to prepare students for the culturally diverse and international world. According to U.S. News & World Report, UB is the third highest university in the region for percentage of international students and the 17th highest for most ethnically diverse student body. UB was the first university in Connecticut to offer an online master’s program. It has since grown to offer a variety of programs in various disciplines. Classes are through Collaborate Ultra, a real-time video conferencing tool that lets students add files, screen share, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact with other students and the professor. First students should apply online with the help of an admissions counselor, and then will be sent information about their financial aid. Once students have been accepted, he/she will be connected with an academic advisor which will guide him/her throughout the rest of the degree process. From there students will start an online orientation that only takes a few hours to complete before they are able to start classes which are offered in 8- or 16-week sessions.
University of Saint Joseph

The University of Saint Joseph was first established in 1932 by the Sisters of Mercy of Connecticut who sought out to begin the first liberal arts college for women in the Hartford area. The school was founded under the idea that education should be centered around professional development as well as strong Catholic traditions. Today, in addition to its traditional undergraduate women’s program, the university offers coeducational masters, certificate programs, undergraduate program for adult learners, and professional doctoral degrees. It is currently undergoing the process of offering full-time undergraduate programs to men to make the school fully coeducational. The University of Saint Joseph was also ranked number six among Niche’s 2016 listing of Best Colleges in Connecticut.

Albertus Magnus College

Originally a women’s college founded by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs in 1924, Albertus Magnus College became a coeducational private university in 1985. From 1992, the college began offering graduate programs. Today there are currently approximately 500 full-time traditional undergraduates and 1,000 adult undergraduate and graduate students. As part of the Dominican tradition, Albertus holds many special ceremonies and traditions, most prominently holding the tradition of honor as an important part of college life. Albertus also holds a strong commitment to a liberal arts curriculum, with an impressive student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1.

Students will have one in-class and one online session per week that meet Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30PM to 7:50PM or 8PM to 10:20PM. There is also the New Dimensions Program, where students attend class only once a week, typically from 6PM to 10PM in addition to online learning applications.
