Things are looking good for business in the Golden State!
According to the Los Angeles Times, California’s economy is expected to outpace the national economy this year. Add to that the fact that the country’s third-largest state is home to some of the three of the world’s biggest companies by revenue—Chevron, Apple, and McKesson—as well as one of the largest economies anywhere in the world, and you’ve got a recipe for success!
The good news doesn’t stop there. California is also an epicenter of finance, business services, tech startups, and entrepreneurship, and for those on the hunt for a good business education, a network of schools that rivals that of any other state!
But let’s get specific. Let’s say you are a Cali native who recognizes the business opportunities right in your backyard and has no intention of leaving. Good for you! California’s a big state, however, so let’s also say you might not be in a position to uproot and move all the way down to SoCal just to get a decent business education. What to do?
More good news for you. There are some great online opportunities for you right in your home state, so we’ve put together a list with you in mind. Below is our list of the top ten online bachelor’s degrees in business in California just for folks like yourself who want a home-grown business education but can’t afford to relocate.
The first thing we want to know, like you, is the bottom line: how much is this going to set me back? So we’ve included the annual tuition for each school right up front for you. We’ve also included our College Choice Score, which is computed based on each school’s reputation in the field and its return on investment. The end result is a list of schools that balance cost, reputation, and, ultimately, what they can do for you and your unique goals. Note that not all programs are complete, four-year programs; some of them are “degree completion” programs, which means you might need to take your first year or two at a local college before enrolling in the online program.
We’ve based our list on a few important sources. The first source is actual college freshman polled during a nationwide survey published by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA. These students rated academic reputation, financial aid offerings, overall cost of school, and the survey also took into account graduate success rates ono the post-college job market. These factors were weighed equally alongside data from other publicly available sources, including U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale.com.
Cali’s where it’s at—time to get to work!
